We know that people are worried about COVID-19. Our immediate focus is the health and well-being of our employees and customers. We will remain open during normal hours. To keep as much distance as possible between customers we are placing a serving counter near the door and ask you to avoid queuing too closely to other customers.
Welcome to Crustum
We’ve been baking great bread in Kenilworth since August 2011. Crustum is open every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and we’d love you to pop in and try one of our lovely baked treats. Have a look around the website and you’ll find out a bit more about Crustum, our weekly specials, the regular bakes, the people that make it and the flour we use. We’re not a high street baker and don’t have loads of frozen loaves hidden away ready to pull out as if by magic. We bake all our bread on the day from dough made by hand. If you want to make sure you get your favourite bread before we run out then place an order online and we’ll hold it for you until 1pm.
Ever since Crustum has been open we’ve complimented our regular bakes with a weekly special. It started out with a few regular rotations and has turned into all sorts of weird and wonderful breads. There are sweet breads, spicy breads, bread with holes in, bread with knots in…all sorts.
There’s been a huge rise in the popularity of home baking recently thanks to programmes like The Great British Bake Off. Two incredibly popular courses are run at the Crustum premises by Nick Wood (bread) and Sharon Newport (cakes). These are not Crustum run courses any more; they are now run independently by the same two people who used to run them on behalf of Crustum. These courses are just what you need for all things doughy and all things cakey that give you the basics you need to try it yourself.
As well as the weekly special, we’ve got the usual suspects that we bake on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Some appear on different days so make sure you know what day your favourite loaf is available if you’re ordering ahead!
We’re fully aware that some of our lovely customers may have certain food intolerances/allergies. All our staff know exactly what goes into all our bakes so if you need more information please ask one of us and we’ll be happy to help.
